Free Agents now available on DVD

March 24, 2009 by

All six episodes of Free Agents are now available to order on DVD (release date 30th March 2009).

Alex (Stephen Mangan) is a talent agent suffering all the sadness and pain of divorce. In the next office to him is Helen (Sharon Horgan) a talent agent suffering all the sadness and pain of bereavement. They’re perfect for each other. According to Alex. According to Helen, he has got to be bloody joking. There’s no way she’s having sex with Alex. Again. Not after the last two times they had sex. Absolutely not…

Set in a world where everyone – the agents, the agents’ boss (Anthony Head), the agents’ clients, the agents’ friends and relations and ex-girlfriends and accountants – are all as bizarrely screwed up as Alex and Helen – Free Agents is a dark, poignant comedy, an on-but-mostly-off romance about a couple who might just have a future if they can ever shake off their past(s)…

series passed us by when on telly, but just watching on I player. I hope series 2 may happen – both lead actors are excellent, and series 1 really is hugely funny.

Missed this when it was on TV, but just watched it on 4OD and was very impressed. The script was brilliantly written and delivered perfectly by the lead actors. I think it’s a real shame Channel 4 have obviously chosen not to make a second series, as I feel it had real potential. Still, a great little series, very much worth a watch.

just watching this great little series on dvd we do not watch that box anymore and we only pick what we watch on dvds.It seems to me that if a series is total rubbish then it goes on 3/4 series.I would like to see a second series of this very funny and well acted show.
